1. This weekend, spend some time with your family brainstorming a list of community organizations you love/would like to volunteer for, and/or a list of activities your family could take part in to give back to the community.
  2. Pick a date (or dates) to do everyone's favorite volunteer activity from the list, put it on everyone's calendar, and commit to giving back!

This Call To Action continues the theme from yesterday's post about the 2016 Indiana Summit On Out-Of-School Learning, which is that we all have a responsibility to give back and improve our communities. Money is great, but donating your time is even more powerful. Help build a house. Prepare a meal. Make clothes. Stock a food pantry. Volunteer time in a classroom. We cannot underestimate the impact we can have on ourselves and on the people we are helping. Commit to giving back this weekend!

What did you think of this post? What volunteer activity did your family commit to doing? Let us know in the comments!
