Today, I want you to eliminate one limiting statement from your life. A limiting statement is a reason you come up with for why something you wanted to happen did not happen. Limiting statements can be saying you're not good enough or "fill-in-the-blank" enough (fast, strong, smart, attractive, experienced, etc.), blaming it on someone or something else (the teacher, the coach, my family, my friends, etc.), or pointing the finger at external circumstances (where I was born, my natural abilities). Start by asking yourself the following:
- What are some of my biggest goals or the things I want most?
- What is holding me back? What do I say is holding me back?
- If I really wanted to accomplish these goals, what would I need to do?
- Is what I say that is holding me back really holding me back?
When we dig deep and honestly for these answers, the result is almost always that we find something we could be doing better to help ourselves achieve our goals. If we remove those limits that we have created in our mind, what is possible? Or better yet, what is impossible?
