I am very excited and humbled to announce that Joseph and I will be featured speakers at the 2016 international conference for life skills in Goa, India! The conference, titled P20 Talks 2016, is “the world’s only professional conference for life skills educators”. The conference is put on by The Global Presence, the humanitarian arm of Parenting 2.0, both of which are amazing organizations with the mission of“supporting a more proactive Life Skills educational process for all persons”. Joseph and I are designated Global Presence Ambassadors by the Global Presence, an award given to life skills educators around the globe.

Both organizations were founded by Marlaine Cover, who is truly one of the sweetest, most genuine people you will ever meet. She is also a doer, having committed her life’s work to global life skills education and having built Parenting 2.0 and The Global Presence to become the incredible international forces they are today.

Joseph will be speaking on the role of perseverance in accomplishing any goal through the lens of his own incredible comeback after brain surgery in high school. I will be speaking about the importance of teaching students financial literacy through the context of my financial education outside of the classroom (despite majoring in Finance), and I will be sharing some practical strategies we can implement to empower our students with finance as a skill. Each of us will have a video of our speeches that we will be very excited to share with you after the conference!

How did this happen? Any time we think about it, initially we are still blown away that we have this opportunity. But when we settle down and think about it, this opportunity without question is a result of the power of thinking big! We write about this concept a lot, and it is one of the most important concepts promoted by incredible individuals like Tony Robbins and Peter Diamandis. We consciously committed in our minds and through our actions to becoming an international company, and shortly after, we were designated as Global Presence Ambassadors and invited to speak at this international conference. How can you apply this skill of thinking big today?

  1. Pick out one of your goals you have for yourself.
  2. How can you think bigger about that goal?
  3. What are the action steps required from you to make that goal happen?
  4. Which obstacles will you face in accomplishing that bigger goal?
  5. What activities, skills, or people in your life could you re-prioritize that would allow you to overcome those obstacles and accomplish that bigger goal?

What did you think of this post? How has the power of thinking big helped you in your life? Let us know in the comments!
