Joseph and I had the privilege of working with the YES Group at Jane Addams High School in Chicago this past semester. The YES Group is a group of 25 students hand-selected by school staff as leaders among their peers.

Through three 2-hour workshops and 1-on-1 sessions with each student, we focused on using intrinsic motivation and the power of thinking big to help YES Group students develop challenging goals for themselves and for the group as a whole.

The YES Group student-leaders left for the summer with new "unrealistic" individual goals and action plans related to academic achievement, leadership development, and communication skills.

As a group, the YES Group has committed to going above and beyond their traditional call of duty by donating leftover cafeteria food to the homeless in their community, as well as initiating a school-wide toy drive this Christmas!

The YES Group students are amazing individuals and we are so thankful we were able to work with them this semester. We cannot wait to partner with Jane Addams again next year!
