WORKSHOP #1: YOUR 220 LIFE (09/19/18)

KEY THEMES

  • “Being realistic is the most commonly traveled road to mediocrity. Why would you be realistic? What’s the point of being realistic?” -Will Smith

  • “If you set your goals ridiculously high and it’s a failure, you will fail above everyone else’s success.” -James Cameron

  • “You get in life what you have the courage to ask for.” -Oprah Winfrey

MISS THE WORKSHOP?

With your mentor/mentee:

  1. Perform the 2028 Visualization Exercise.

    • MENTORS: Ask your mentee to close their eyes. Tell them to imagine it’s the year 2028, and prompt them to visualize a typical day in their life 10 years from now using the questions in the black box on page 10 of the Kickstarter/Journal.

    • MENTEE: Repeat the exercise above, asking your mentor the same questions.

  2. Perform the Unrealistic Exercise. Have a discussion around how the components from each of your visions might change if they were put through the “Unrealistic” lens. This means (a) nothing is off limits and (b) failure is not an option. Use the categories on pages 14-16 to help guide your discussion, if needed.

  3. Complete the exercises in the “Design” section of the Kickstarter.

    • MENTORS: pages 7, 10, 14-16

    • MENTEES: pages 7, 10, 14-16

WORKSHOP #2: VISION INTO ACTION (10/17/18)

KEY THEMES

  • “Dreams without goals, will remain dreams.” -Denzel Washington

  • Reverse engineering can help you turn dreams into reality. Now that you have the vision for your 220 Life in 10 years, what could you accomplish in the next year? In the next 6 months? 12 weeks?

  • Every famous role model, celebrity, athlete, entrepreneur, artist, scientist, inventor, etc… at your age, were no different than you are right now.

    • Commit to your vision

    • Set shorter term goals that align with that vision

    • Constantly test your limits

    • Plan for obstacles and how to overcome them

MISS THE WORKSHOP?

With your mentor/mentee:

  1. Read and complete the exercises in the “Create” section of the Kickstarter on your own.

  2. Circle up for a meeting and have a meaningful discussion on:

MENTOR FEEDBACK FORM

Upperclassmen: Personal Brand

KEY THEMES

  • "I've come to believe that each of us has a personal calling that's as unique as a fingerprint - and that the best way to succeed is to discover what you love and then find a way to offer it to others in the form of service, working hard, and also allowing the energy of the universe to lead you.” -Oprah Winfrey

  • Relaxed focus is the only way to perform at your best. The only way to be relaxed is to prepare.

  • Tell me about yourself is not about you, it’s about the interviewer:

    1. Present

    2. Past

    3. Future

  • 99% of behavioral interview questions can be predicted
